FULL BIO

Yeon Ji Lee is a South Korean jazz pianist and composer currently based in New York City.
Rooted in jazz yet embracing lyrical emotion, her music weaves stories that connect sensitivity and depth — blending elements of gospel, funk, and modern jazz into one expressive voice.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Music from Seoul Theological University, and later moved to New York to pursue a Master’s in Jazz Studies at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College (The City University of New York).
There, she studied under world-renowned artists and educators including David Berkman, Jeb Patton, Antonio Hart, Tim Armacost, Michael Mossman, and Dennis Mackrel.

Her debut single “Dancing Stars” captures her signature sound — lyrical melodies, rich harmonies, and heartfelt storytelling — expressing her belief that true beauty often lies beyond what we can see.
Yeon Ji continues to perform actively across New York’s jazz scene as both a bandleader and collaborator, sharing music that reminds listeners that, like “dancing stars,” we each have a light that shines within.
